Ingrown toenails - a painful problem with a solution

Ingrown toenails are one of the most common and unpleasant foot problems people come to me with. The pain, redness, pressure and sometimes the inflammatory reaction even make it difficult to wear shoes.

The good news is that it is possible to alleviate and control this problem - both with professional care and with daily conscious care at home.

How do we deal with ingrown nails at Pedilux?

Every client is different, so I first assess the condition of the nail and surrounding skin. Depending on the situation, I choose the right method:

Tamponing

We use a soft material placed under the edge of the nail to relieve pressure against the skin and guide the nail to grow in the right direction. Suitable for minor cases and first aid.

Fitting a light bulb clamp

For a more chronic or recurring problem, a special nail clip may be needed to help correct the shape of the nail and prevent it from growing back into the skin. The brace is used as a painless alternative to surgical intervention.
