Learning objective
The training is intended as a refresher course for adult students who wish to acquire knowledge and practical skills in the field of pedicure. The aim of the training is to teach the safe and professional performance of apparatus pedicure, the correct preparation of the workplace and tools, and client interaction.
Learning outcomes
Graduate of the training:
- knows the anatomy of the foot and can assess the health of the foot;
- recognises common problems and early stage changes;
- follows hygiene rules, prepares the workplace and uses personal protective equipment;
- knows the types and uses of drill bits and how to handle them safely;
- can perform dry pedicure (without bath) - treatment of nails, cuticles and soles, exfoliation, light massage techniques.
- know how to choose and use the right care products;
- can assess whether a cosmetic material can be applied to the nail or skin;
- can do work photography and simple photo editing for a portfolio;
- can communicate with the client in a professional manner and give home care advice.
Target group
Adult learners wishing to acquire basic pedicure knowledge and skills.
Learning environment
The training is carried out in the Pediluxus Studio, which is equipped with modern pedicure teaching equipment (pedicure chair, nail grinder, drill bits, sterilization equipment, tools, proper lighting, disinfectants).
The classroom meets health requirements and allows for practical work. Pupils will use personal protective equipment and will also learn hygiene through practical activities.
Teaching materials
- Concepts on the theory and practice of pedicure (anatomy, hygiene, work process, tools) prepared by the trainer.
- A selection of theoretical materials from various professional books and manicure training materials, adapted for pedicure.
- Illustrative diagrams and photos, workflow guides.
- Materials to practice taking and editing photos of your work.
Course content
- Personal protective equipment and hygiene requirements in pedicure (theory and practice)
- Foot anatomy and physiology
- Overview of common nail and skin problems (basic knowledge of problem feet, not treatment).
- Preparing the workplace and tools
- Types, selection and safe use of drill bits
- Dry pedicure procedure: treatment of nails and cuticles, treatment of the skin on the soles, exfoliation.
- Correct use of care products
- Restrictions on the use of the material (when not to apply)
- Communicating with the client and creating a professional first impression
- Photographing and editing work for portfolios
Evaluation
- Assessment of theoretical knowledge based on oral interview.
- Assessment of practical skills on the day of the training in the performance of an instrumented pedicle procedure.
- The learner will not receive a certificate at the end of the course without passing the assessment.
Control form
Verbal feedback during theory and practical work.
Graduation and documents issued
- Completion of the training is based on attendance at the training day and achievement of the learning outcomes.
- Once the requirements have been met, the following will be issued identification.
